Even with several locations receiving rainfall on Saturday…including over one inch at Memphis…many locations were still able to reach the century mark during the afternoon hours.
Temperatures over the midsouth should reach the triple digits at most locations once again today even with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected across the area.
Some relief from the triple digit heat is possible on Monday…as the upper level high pressure ridge retreats slightly. However…this relief will be short lived as the upper level ridge is expected to build back over the midsouth…resulting in temperatures nearing the century mark once again into the middle part of the week.
The tables below illustrate the observed temperatures through August 18th.
