A National Weather Service damage survey team determined that a tornado tracked from the Double Bridges to Poplar Grove area in Lauderdale County then moved to just east of Fowlkes in Dyer County. The track was continuous.
The tornado was rated an EF1 (enhanced Fujita scale)…with approximately 100 to 110 mile an hour winds. Several houses were heavily damaged in the Poplar Grove area…and a Mobile home was destroyed in Double Bridges. The tornado damage was approximately 25 yards wide. The tornado was about 7 miles long. There were no injuries or deaths.
