Record Temperatures - Aug 23, 2009.

A record low temperature of 54 degrees was set at Jackson yesterday. This breaks the old record of 55 set back in 1956.
The low temperature in Parsons was 57 degrees.

A record low maximum temperature of 78 degrees was set at Jackson yesterday. This ties the old record of 78 set back in 1966.
The high temperature in Parsons was 75 degrees.

Record Low Temperature - Aug 5th, 2009.

A record low temperature of 68 degrees was set at the Memphis. This ties the old record of 68 set in 2004.

The low temperature in Parsons was 66 degrees.

Midsouth all time cool and wettest July on record.

Several locations across the midsouth ranked in the top ten of an all time cool and wettest July on record. Records have been kept at locations dating between 1895 and 1948.

The Jackson Tennessee Airport had an average temperature of 75.6 degrees…which is the coolest July ever on record. Jackson also ranked eighth for the wettest July…with 7.47 inches of rainfall.

Jonesboro Arkansas Airport tied the all time temperature record with
77.3 degrees. Jonesboro also had the fourth wettest July on record with 6.87 inches of rainfall.

Dyersburg Tennessee Airport had an average temperature of 76.7 degrees…which is the second coldest on record. Dyersburg also had the third wettest July with 9.38 inches of rainfall.

Memphis International Airport tied for fifth coldest July on record…with 79.3 degrees. Memphis also ranked fourth in the wettest July…with 8.46 inches.

Parsons had an average temperature of 74.9 degrees and received 8.08 inches of rain.
