National Weather Service damage survey team concludes an EF-1 tornado
touched down on Bible Hill Road 2 miles north northwest of Parsons
Tennessee at 426 PM…traveled east northeast and continued across
the Tennessee River. Maximum winds were estimated at 105 mph.
Preliminary track length was 7.6 miles with a maximum track width of
400 yards.
Significant tree damage occurred…especially on Brodies Landing Rd.
Although light damage was noted to most structures hit directly from
the tornado…significant property damage resulted from falling
trees. One barn was completely destroyed however.

Tornado reported on Highway 641 about 3 miles north of Parsons.

Thunderstorm wind damage, reported by trained spotter.
Power lines and trees down on Bible Hill Road and Everett James Lane.

Tornado reported by trained spotter.
Houses damaged about 3 miles north of Parsons on Highway 69.
Trees and power lines down as well.

Several houses damaged on Brodies Landing Road.

A record high temperature of 88 degrees was set in Jackson, TN.
This breaks the old record of 87 set in 1977.
The high temperature in Parsons was 87.5 degrees.
