Tornado began 2 miles northeast of Parsons at 830 PM and
continued to the Cherokee Landing area at the Tennessee
River by 845 PM. Estimated winds were 120 mph&#8230;path
length was 12 miles&#8230; and maximum width was 400 yards.

2 miles NW of Parsons, Decatur County.<br />
Tornado, reported by NWS storm survey.</p>
<p>Tornado began 2 miles northeast of Parsons at 830 PM and<br />
continued to the Cherokee Landing area at the Tennessee<br />
River by 845 PM. Estimated winds were 120 mph&#8230;path<br />
length was 12 miles&#8230; and maximum width was 400 yards.<br />
Major damage to a Mobile home in the Five Forks area.<br />
Large grain bin tossed 50 yds. Minor damage to trees and<br />
homes&#8230; with tombstones turned over in Bible Hill area. 8<br />
homes sustained severe damage on blue bird Circle.<br />
Estimated damage cost 1.285 million dollars.</p>

Thunderstorm wind damage, reported by Emergency Mngr.</p>
<p>6 to 7 homes damaged, possibly a few businesses in<br />
Parsons. Emergency manager said that he has not reached<br />
the damaged buildings due to large trees over the roads<br />
to get there. Emergency manager said this was possibly<br />
tornado damage.</p>

damaged&#8230; one Mobile home about 75 percent destroyed.<br />
Grain bins pulled off Concrete pads and numerous farm<br />
buildings damaged. About 50 percent of residents still<br />
without power. Emergency manager believes this was a tornado.</p>

bob Scruggs Road and traveled east crossing dollar Road and then<br />
lifting just east of dollar Road. The tornado resulted in damage<br />

addition&#8230;there were multiple sheds destroyed and several snapped<br />
trees.</p>
